Requirements: Quantity of Available IPs

The Sensedia API Gateway and Sensedia Integrations can be acquired by the same client. In this case, both products are provisioned in the same Sensedia VPC. To offer an optimized experience, when a client opts to establish a private connectivity with the Sensedia VPC, both products have access to the same network where the private backends are located.

In Sensedia Integrations, for each created integration, at least 7 IPs from the VPC are consumed by Sensedia’s infrastructure, but this number can increase as the integrations scale horizontally.

There will be a considerable consumption of IPv4 in the VPC:

  • Due to the sharing of the same VPC.

  • Considering scenarios of high consumption and scalability of the Sensedia API Gateway APIs and/or each integration of Sensedia Integrations.

Thus, we recommend using at least /21 subnet masks, but ideally /20 subnet masks should be used. The client should take this into account when establishing private connectivity to avoid IP overlap between the local network and Sensedia’s VPC.
